Ithaca Police Arrest Man Trying to Fight Others With Knife


On Sunday, October 8th, around 8:15 in the evening, Ithaca Police responded to a report of a man armed with a knife trying to fight others in the area on Abbott Lane in the City of Ithaca.

As officers were arriving on scene, the suspect in question fled into a wooded area. Officers conducted a search of the immediate and surrounding area, but were unable to locate the suspect.

About a half hour later, officers were again called back to the scene for the same report. As officers arrived again, the suspect again fled on foot, but after a brief foot pursuit, he was taken into custody.

The suspect in question was identified as 33 year old Alexander Mosher of Ithaca. An investigation found Mosher had threatened multiple people who were outside on Abbott Lane with the knife he had possession of Ithaca Police say.

Mosher was charged with 2 counts of Menacing in the 1st, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 3rd, all Felonies. He was arraigned in Ithaca City Court and then remanded to Tompkins County Jail.
