Around 2pm on Tuesday afternoon, the Ithaca Fire Department responded to College Ave. in the City of Ithaca for a patient who sustained a serious leg injury at a construction site.
The patient was located on the upper floor of the building that was currently under construction on College Ave. The area they were located in had limited and difficult access down. Ithaca Fire made the decision to request assistance from Ladder 932 to bring down the patient to the street safely.
College Ave. was briefly closed as Ladder 932 assisted the patient down safely through an elevated platform. The street was briefly closed for about 40 minutes as crews got the patient down safely.
Bangs Ambulance was also on scene providing additional medical care and then transported the patient to the hospital. Their condition is unknown.
