The Great New York State Fair has announced another addition to the music packed line up for the Suburban Park stage for this year’s fair.
Popular 90s band Tonic is coming to the fair on Thursday, August 24th at 2pm. Known for their hit song “If You Could Only See,” a song that is considered the Most Played Back Rock Song of 1997. The band also has six top ten hits, and received two Grammy nominations.
“It’s meaningful that The Fair can provide a setting for people to come together around songs that mean something to them and a space where they can enjoy a day with family and friends,” said Sean Hennessey, Interim Fair Director. “In Tonic’s case, we feel the music will especially appeal to 30- and 40-somethings who were coming of age in the mid-1990s and early 2000s and have fond memories listening to these songs.”
This will be the bands first time performing solo, they played as an opener for the Goo Goo Dolls back in 2000 at the Grandstand.
All performances are included in general admission for the state fair. Tickets at $6 for adults, and free for those 12 years old and younger, and 65 years old and older.
