A North Syracuse man was arrested Saturday (February 2) night for a DWI, but not before he led Police on a high-speed chase on Interstate-81 in Homer.
Officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a late-model red Jeep Liberty at the exit 12 I-81 on-ramp, following a complaint they received about erratic driving.
The operator, 32 year-old Mark D. Garlock II of North Syracuse, accelerated away from officers and continued northbound on I-81 for about 5 miles before officers were able to box him in.
Garlock II was taken into custody and subsequently found to be intoxicated.
He was then taken back to the Sheriff’s Office for processing, arraigned in the Town of Homer Court the next morning and released to reappear in Homer tomorrow (February 5).
