Hope for Heather Continues Support of Cortland Cancer Patients with $5,000 Donation

Sheila Ossit, Director of the Cortland Memorial Foundation, recently met with Frieda Weeks, founder of Hope for Heather, in Syracuse. During the meeting, Weeks presented a $5,000 donation to the Cortland Memorial Foundation to support patients at the Renzi Cancer Center at Guthrie Cortland who have been diagnosed with ovarian or other gynecological cancers.

Hope for Heather is a nonprofit organization established in memory of Heather Weeks, who passed away from cancer at the age of 24. The organization is dedicated to advancing ovarian cancer research, promoting education and awareness, and providing comfort and support to women and families affected by a cancer diagnosis.

The partnership between Hope for Heather and the Cortland Memorial Foundation began in July 2024 and has since provided more than $9,000 in assistance to patients in the Cortland community.
