World War II Naval Veteran Stella Vreeland, a Homer native, marks a full century of life on Tuesday, June 30th.
Stella served as a nurse during the war on Staten Island and currently resides at Cortland Park Rehab and Nursing Services. She’s now a dual member of American Legion Post 465 (Homer) and American Legion Auxiliary.
For her 100th birthday, the community is being asked to celebrate with Stella by sending her thoughtful birthday cards, since she’s still on lockdown at the nursing home and can’t have a birthday party herself.
