Homer Woman Charged with Felony Welfare Fraud

Local News

A Homer woman was arrested Friday (January 3) on charges of 4th degree welfare fraud and grand larceny, following an investigation by members of the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities say 29-year-old Monica Moore, of Route 11, failed to report required household income information to the Department of Social Services during the month of June, allowing her to receive more than $1800 she was not entitled to.

Moore’s been charged with two class E felonies and is set to appear in City Court on January 15.
