Homer Trustees To Consider “Red X” Law

Village of Homer Trustees will take public comments Wednesday night on a new law, called the Red X Law.

The proposed law amends the fire code to protect first responders, by fining anyone who removes the big Red X signs that go on buildings deemed unsafe to enter.

Trustees will also be asked to authorize new members Andrew Stevens and Tyler Crandall to the Homer Fire Department. and consider a resolution to abolish

Another proposed resolution would abolish the position of Deputy Village Clerk/Treasurer. Trustees would then create a Deputy Village Clerk position and a Deputy Village Treasurer position.

The Village Board of Trustees meets at 6 pm in the Town Hall Senior Center.
