Homer Central Schools has provided an update on tomorrow’s graduation ceremony at the high school. After an evaluation of the recent weather forecast, plans for the ceremony will proceed at 10am tomorrow at Butts Field.
The district asks students to plan to line up by their senior banners no later than 9:45 in order to allow the ceremony to begin right at 10am. The stadium will open at 9am for family members wishing to attend.
Homer Schools will reevaluate the weather conditions again tomorrow morning. If the forecast changes, the district will provide information by 8am with any changes planned. In the event of rain, the gymnasium and auditorium will be used for graduation.
Over 2,000 people are expected to attend the Class of 2023’s graduation ceremony. Parking will be available in all lots at the high school.
“Individuals with mobility issues may want to use the lower lot at the corner of Center and Park Streets. The Center Street gate will be open to the stadium to make entry easier. We will also have small utility vehicles assisting with moving guests in need of assistance from the parking areas to the graduation venue.” The school said in a statement.
