Homer Schools Investigating Reason Why Students Got Sick From Eating a Candy Bar
Homer Central Schools Superintendent Tom Turck tells X101 News the district is investigating the cause as to why students got sick on Monday, March 3rd, from eating what was described as a candy bar.
Superintendent Turck says students took the apparent candy bar from another student and then ate the bar in a school bathroom. Turck told X101 News he cannot confirm if what the students ate was in fact an edible. The number of students who ate from the candy bar and got sick was also not provided.
“We are looking into the issue and will take appropriate action as it relates to disciplinary action after determining the facts.” Turck told X101 News.
The students involved in the situation were from the Homer Intermediate School. X101 will provide additional information on the investigation once available.
