The Homer Central School District has announced that beginning on Friday, December 1st, all students within the school district will be eligible to receive one school breakfast and one school lunch free of charge.
The district says the expansion is part of the Community Eligibility Provision and will allow the district to serve meals without a cost to their students.
“It is important to share that if your child wants to eat more than one meal per sitting, they will still need to purchase them at the original 2023-24 cost.” The district said in a release.
Homer Schools are encouraging parents/guardians to encourage their child to take advantage of the opportunity for the free meals. Research has shown that access to nutritious food offerings will help with attention and the overall health of the child.
