Homer Police Respond to Heron in Distress

Homer Police reported yesterday they took action after responding to a complaint of a heron in distress at Casterline Pond.

Homer Officer Cresap responded to the area along with New York State Environmental Conservation Officer Kotsuk.

Both officers located the heron, which was entangled in fishing line and twine and were able to free it.

It was transported to Cornell University for rehabilitation.
