Homer Police: Remember To Yield To People Using Crosswalks

Local News

Main St., Homer (Homer Police photo)

The Chief of Police in Homer reminds drivers about crosswalks.

There are several in Homer, including in front of the elementary school entrance and on Cayuga Street near the Center for the Arts.

Officers of the Homer Police Department suggest you be courteous and yield the right of way to pedestrians in the crosswalks.

Failure can get you a ticket (points on your license) and it could cost someone their life.

Pedestrians are reminded to remember that while you may have the right of way within the crosswalk,  for your own safety, be alert for vehicles failing to obey the law.
