On Friday (September 17) morning, Homer police department and others participated in the annual Go for the Gold event.
Officers, volunteers, and athletes came together to raise much needed funds for the Special Olympics movement.
Proceeds go towards helping athletes like Daryl (pictured below), who participates in swimming, skiing, bowling, and soccer.
