The Village of Homer Police Chief Pitman, part of the Central New York Chiefs Associations, joined veterans and volunteers in the Wreaths Across America at a Veterans Cemetery in Onondaga on Saturday, December 17th.
The overall mission is to remember, honor and teach. Wreaths Across America is a coordinated effort with wreath laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, and at more than 3,400 additional locations throughout the country.
After the wreath laying ceremony, some of the police chiefs went to the Syracuse Veterans Hospital, where they gave clothing and other items to residents of the nursing home section that was donated by the organization. Homer Men and Boys Store took part in donating clothing to Veterans.
