On this morning’s Happening in Homer segment:
Mayor Hal McCabe discussed progress being made with the ongoing NYEG and DDS work in the village, including the resolution of several issues he raised last month.
According to McCabe, it was our news coverage of the July 28 Board of Trustees that sparked a productive series of conversations – both DDS and NYSEG contacted him the next day and scheduled a large meeting.
In attendance were officials from both companies, along with McCabe, Deputy Mayor Pat Clune, Village Clerk Dan Egnor and several members of the public works department.
It was from that point on that McCabe said things started to improve.
“Once they explained to us more about their process and addressed our concerns, we were pretty much satisfied,” said McCabe. “They take pride in what they do and are committed to making it right.”
The mayor urged residents with any issues in the future to contact the village offices directly for assistance.
