Homer Mayor Releases Initial Results Of Online Village Survey

On Monday, Homer Mayor Hal McCabe released results of the online survey of village residents launched as he begins his term.

The first question asked respondents to identify the single biggest issue: More than a third of the respondents pointed to high taxes. Other issues were in the single digits including meth and opioid Abuse by 9%, police issues and improving Rt 11 at 6%.

Mayor McCabe also identified the top three “new proposals” that interested the greatest percentage of the 114 respondents:

  • Opening a small boutique hotel in the village
  • Creating a park for dogs
  • Creating a bike and skate park for kids
