Homer Man Arrested For Larceny In-Progress Goes Free Due To Bail Reform

Officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office and New York State Police responded yesterday to a larceny in progress.


Police arrived to a camp site off of Route 11 in the Town of Homer for a report of someone on the property stealing a camera. Police arriving on scene did find William Brame, 21, of Homer, inside the camper on the property.

He was taken into custody and found to be in possession of a controlled substance.

He was transported the Public Safety Building for processing and to await arraignment. A bail recommendation was provided however at arraignment he was released on his own recognizance.

Prior to this latest arrest, William Brame was arrested in January of 2022 for three counts of Burglary in the Third degree, which now due to bail reform is a non-qualifying offence, meaning no bail can be set.

He’s is due to appear in the Homer Town Court on March 15th, 2022 at 5:00 p.m
