Homer Hops Receives Grant Via Empire State Craft Beverage Micro Grant Program


Over $9.7 million dollars in capital grants has been awarded to 108 craft beverage manufacturers, including Homer Hops. The Craft Beverage Micro Grant Program will support capital-based projects which are intended to increase the production capacity, business infrastructure and profitability of businesses who are licensed to produce wine, beer, spirits, hard cider and mead by providing matching funds for equipment purchases and facility upgrades.

Hope Hops, will receive a grant of $25,000, which will help the business invest in a new chiller for the brewery and taphouse. The new split chiller configuration will provide more reliable, energy efficient production at the business.

“We have been limping along on the current one for a little while now. This will be greatly appreciated once it is replaced.” Jason Kristof, owner of Homer Hops said to X101 News.

“New York State is supporting our growing communities by investing in shovel-ready projects that will encourage job creation and help boost local economies,” Governor Hochul said. “The range of these projects reflects crucial Regional Economic Development Council input from the stakeholders who know their local assets and industries best, helping us to make strategic investments to create opportunity in our communities, both now and for the future.”
