UPDATE: The Homer High School playoff football game against Cazenovia tomorrow has been moved to Chittenango High School at 1:30 p.m. It will now be played on a turf field.
Thank you to all who reached out to donate grass cleats, but fortunately they are no longer needed.
The Homer Trojan Varsity Football team has nudged itself into playoff play and will head up to Cazenovia this Saturday (October 20) to take on the Lakers at 1:30 p.m.
But first, the boys need your help.
Homer Coach Gary Podsiedlik says the team has not played on a grass field in six years and will have to do so this Saturday on a Cazenovia field that’s not in the best shape.
Most of the boys do not have the proper cleats to wear in these conditions, so Coach Podsiedlik is kindly asking the public to donate any lightly used football shoes that have detachable, screw in cleats.
Donations can be brought to the main office of Homer High School before the end of the day today (October 18), or give Coach Podsiedlik a call at 607-423-1413.
