Homer Football season opener cancelled by Marcellus quarantine
Local News, Local Sports March 26, 2021The Homer Trojans football team was set to begin their Fall 2 season tomorrow during an afternoon matchup against Marcellus.
However, that’s now cancelled due to the Mustangs falling into a covid-19 quarantine.
Trojans head coach Gary Podsiedlik confirmed the update to WXHC this morning.
“We will hold a Blue-White scrimmage with our varsity team tomorrow at 1:00 PM to show our parents the progress we have made,” he said. “That will be followed up with a player-parent meeting.”
Homer’s first game is now versus Chittenango next Thursday, April 1st, with kickoff at 12:00 Noon.
