Homer Fire Responds to Tractor Trailer Rollover on I81

On Saturday, March 4th, around 8am, the Homer Fire Department responded to a two vehicle accident on I81 northbound before Exit 13 (Preble).

The accident involved an SUV and a tractor trailer, which rolled over into the embankment on the left hand side of the highway spilling its contents on the ground.

Interstate 81 was partially obstructed by debris from the accident and the right lane remained closed for most of the day Saturday as crews worked to right the truck and trailer to tow it away.

Assisting the Homer Fire Department was TLC Ambulance, Preble Fire Rescue, and the New York State Police. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
