The Village of Homer Fire Department has had a busy afternoon today as a call came in around 2:45 in the afternoon of a reported structure fire on 9 N. Main St. in the Village of Homer.
Response came from Homer and Cortland Fire Departments in the kitchen area of the residence of an electric odor. Crews began to investigate the cause of the odor and found the cause to be an overheated freezer unit.
Crews unplugged the unit and moved it away from the way. No further action was needed afterwards.
The all clear was given by 3:10pm.
