During last nights Village of Homer Board of Trustees meeting, Homer Department of Public Works Superintendent Phil Stockton provided an update on this year’s paving projects within the Village of Homer.

Stockton informed the board the DPW received two bids for road milling/paving this year. One from Suit-Kote and the other from Barrett. He noted the Suit-Kote bid came in $54,000 less than the other and it would be a “turn-key” project that wouldn’t take away resources from the DPW. Stockton noted to the board that won’t stop him from verifying and ensuring all work is done properly. He also noted the project will be entirely cover by CHIPS funding.

Streets to be milled and paved this year include:

  • Prospect (West side)
  • Hudson
  • Miller
  • Cortland (Cayuga to Center)

Work is expected to begin in early to mid-July.
