Local authorities responded yesterday to an SUV vs motorcycle crash in Homer that sent one person to Upstate Medical Center with life threatening injuries.
Homer police responded just before 7 am to the intersection of North-West St and Clinton Street (Route 41) in the village, where they say the operator of the SUV (a 58 year-old male from Marathon) was traveling northbound on North-West St and cutoff the southbound motorcycle while making a left hand turn.
The bike’s operator, a 27 year-old male from Baldwinsville was airlifted to Upstate Hospital in Syracuse for life threatening injuries.
Officials say the SUV driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries and issued a traffic ticket for failing to yield the right of way.
At this time, the names of all involved persons are not being released pending notification of relatives.
Also helping at the scene were the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office and Homer Fire Department.
