Homer Center for the Arts Holding Scrap Metal Drive Saturday
The Homer Center for the Arts will hold a scrap metal drive fundraiser on Saturday, October 3, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the rear parking lot, accessible from Cayuga Street in the Village of Homer.
The fundraiser will accept unwanted metal, appliances and hardware, with proceeds benefiting the Center for the Arts of Homer.
The Center will also accept returnable cans and bottles.
“Drive into the back parking lot from Cayuga Street, stop at the metal recycling station, we will help empty your vehicle, and then you can drive away! It is that easy,” the Center for the Arts said.
Organizers say the fundraiser is an opportunity for community members to clear out old appliances, copper pipes and other scrap metal that may be taking up space in garages, basements or yards.
“Instead of letting scrap gather dust or sending it to the landfill, drop it off at our collection site. We will recycle all collected materials, and 100% of the proceeds will go directly toward funding community programs at the Center for the Arts!” the Center said.
