Homeless Man Facing Multiple Drug Felony Charges

Around 7 in the morning on Friday, June 23rd, officers from the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on East River Road in Cortlandville for traffic infractions.


During the stop, the driver of the vehicle, 51 year old Terry L. Maricle, who is listed as homeless, was operating the vehicle with a suspended license. Officers also discovered Maricle had a fake inspection sticker and had in his possession drugs.

Officers found 84 Buprenorphine pills, 5 grams of meth, 7 grams of Cathinone, a digital scale and packaging materials.

Maricle was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th, 2 counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 1st, Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument in the 2nd, all Felonies, Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 2nd, a Misdemeanor, and numerous traffic infractions.

The drugs seized had a street value of $3,300. Maricle is currently waiting for his arraignment.
