The Town of Solon was recently awarded a Community Development Block Grant from New York State.
Funds are being used to rehabilitate single-family, owner-occupied properties located within town boundaries. Financial assistance may be available for the rehabilitation of your property.
The goal of the program is to remedy code violations and hazardous situations, and to provide adequate weatherization for homes owned and occupied by persons of low-to-moderate income.
Assistance is provided in the form of a 100% deferred payment loan, which are similar to grants.
If the property is held by the original participant and used as the principal residence for a period of five years following completion of the rehabilitation project, the loan will be completely forgiven.
