New York’s announced that $50 million in public state funding will be used to support local law enforcement agencies and pretrial services.
Of those dollars, $30 million will go toward body cams and new technologies for police to help aid in preventing, reducing and solving crime as well as building community trust. The other $20 million will be put toward pretrial services in all counties outside of New York City, allowing the return of more individuals to court by providing them with services and supervision.
“My administration is wholly committed to providing the tools our partners in law enforcement need, including the largest state public investment in a generation”, Gov. Hochul says.
