Gov. Kathy Hochul has announced a collaboration between a special working group of state agencies and agricultural community stakeholders, known as the Strategic Interagency Task Force Lessening Obstacles to Agriculture Working Group.
Earlier this summer, state officials gathered feedback from farming communities across New York regarding their concerns about the agricultural industry in the state. This Task Force will collaborate with representatives from commodity sectors of agriculture to address various challenges including housing for workers, taxation, and farmland protection.
A final report will be provided to the Governor’s Office by the Task Force. It’ll identify actions recommended by the group that state agencies can take to help streamline business for New York farmers.
