This weekend is Superbowl Weekend and the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office has announced the start of their High Visibility Campaign through gameday. The Sheriff’s Office is one of many area law enforcement agencies conducting a high visibility campaign this weekend.
A high visibility campaign by law enforcement is a publicized effort aimed to reduce those who may drive drunk or impaired. Law enforcement agencies will use both marked and unmarked vehicles, set-up checkpoints, and have an increased number of officers on the roads.
The Sheriff’s Office reminds residents that they can make a difference by having a sober plan to get home safely. A free app is available to download titled “Have a Plan” that will help residents find a safe ride home. More information on the app can be found HERE.
