High-speed chase leads to DWI arrest in C’Ville

A Truxton man was charged with a felony DWI after trying to flee police at high speeds early this morning in the town of Cortlandville.

Patrol officers with the Cortland County Sheriff’s Department attempted to pull over a vehicle on Starr Road around 2:30 am, the driver of which was later identified as 29-year-old Edward White, of State Route 13.

After a brief chase, police were able to stop White’s vehicle on McLean Road.

He was found to be intoxicated then arrested, processed and set to be arraigned this morning.

White’s charges include the following:

  • Driving While Intoxicated (Felony)
  • 1st-degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operation (Felony)
  • Unlawful Fleeing Police Officer (Misd.)
  • 2nd-degree Unlawful Possession Marijuana, Pass Red Light, Unsafe Start, Unapproved Sticker, Improper Plates, Unregistered Motor Vehicle, Drove Left of Curb, Refuse to take Breath Test (Violations)
