On Sunday, August 7th The Cortland County Sheriff’s Department responded to Tractor Supply on Route 13 in the Town of Cortlandville for a larceny complaint. Employees at the store informed officer’s of an unknown male stealing items and then fleeing in a vehicle.
Officer’s that were in the area located a vehicle matching the description provided to them and conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle. In the vehicle were two suspects that matched the physical and clothing description provided.
While officer’s continued their investigation they found a substantial amount of heroin and meth that was packaged for sale in the vehicle.
54 year old Michael T. Rogers and 29 year old Anthony J. Sigler were both charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, 2 counts, a felony.
During the time of arrest Rogers was already released on his own recognizance from an arrest by the Cortland County Drug Take Force back on May 25th due to bail reform, with the intent of selling meth and heroin. Rogers was sent again to be remanded to the Cortland County Jail until his next court appearance.
Due to New York State Bail reform, Sigler was released on his own recognizance.
