Access to Indepence is trying to reach veterans in Cortland County. Architectural Barrier Program Specialist Shelly Knickerbocker told me some of the ways the agency can help make homes more navigable.
“We’ve done ramps, some bathroom modifications like roll-in showers, making kitchens more accessible. We try to do anything that can make homes more accessible for veterans in need.”
Hollenbeck suggests they call and see if they qualify.
“If you are a veteran looking for assistance for home modifications you can contact Access To Independence,” said Knickerbocker.
An opportunity for veterans to make improvements and make their lives a little easier.
