The Homer Central School District has announced the district’s intermediate students took part in the Summer Enrichment Program, Kindness Is Cool, Kids (KICKS), a program that teaches the students about kindness.
During the program, students learned how to be kind to themselves and others and the importance of kindness. Additionally, the students were able to show their kindness by making and then delivering kindness bracelets and bookmarks for residents at the Elizabeth Brewster House. Students also made and delivered cards and posters for the Homer Fire Department and Police Department.
Lastly, residents in the village will also be able to see inspiring messages the students drew on sidewalks with chalk and then delivered dog toys the students created to a local shelter. The program is two weeks long.
