Guthrie to Host Upcoming Open House at Renzi Health Campus

I’m Matt Brooks on X101 Always Classic in for another edition of Your care with Guthrie, and joining me on the line today, well, it’s the Senior Director of Guthrie Medical Group, Northern Region, Marie Darling. Now first off, Marie, thank you for joining me this morning. 
Marie Darling: Thank you, Matt. It’s a pleasure to be here with you today. 
Matt Brooks: Yeah. Well, right. We have a great topic. We’re talking about the Guthrie Cortland Renzi Health Campus. And first off, Marie, can you tell us about the upcoming Open House and what people can expect? 
Marie Darling: You bet. We are so proud, uh, of our new health campus, which is located at 4057 West Road in Cortland, I’m really happy to have this opportunity to open the doors to our community for everybody to see it for themselves.
We’ve built an incredible facility where our patients will get the care that they need under one roof and close to home. Um, our open house is scheduled on June 18th, and it is from 5 to 7:00 PM at night. Our visitors will have the opportunity to walk through our state-of-the-art facility with a guided tour and meet many of our [00:01:00] caregivers who strive every day to help our patients achieve their health goals.
Our visitors will also have the opportunity to walk through our Maternity Oasis Mobile unit, which we refer to as the MOM unit. You may have seen it out there in our advertising and maybe out on the road. This mobile unit is bringing maternity care to underserved communities in our region. Really, we couldn’t be prouder of the efforts to promote health equity in the areas that we serve, and this is our way of doing that.
Matt Brooks: It’s amazing all that, the, I mean, it’s been a long time. It’s a, it’s been a, a, been a whole process to make sure that when this, uh, health campus opens, it opens up correctly. And for those who may not be familiar with it, I know we’ve been covering it in some of our local news, but what does the Cortland Renzi Health Campus offer?
Marie Darling: This campus promotes easy access to care in a safe and well-designed, uh, footprint within the campus, we have ample parking with wheelchair accessibility at every entry point, our parking lot is well lit with security cameras [00:02:00] strategically placed around the campus to promote safety. And in this facility we provide access to care to multiple specialties and primary care.
We include access to walk-in seven days a week. We have onsite lab. We have onsite X-ray imaging and many specialties like general surgery and plastic surgery, orthopedics, OB-GYN, and we even have a telehealth hub to promote access to nephrology, neurology and vascular surgery. We strive to promote same day access when possible, and are proud of the collaborative team approach that we have to providing access to care with all of these specialists in the same space.
Matt Brooks: Wow. It’s just, it’s amazing how though this Guthrie Cortland Renzi Health campus is really just gonna be a hub where, I mean, depending on, there, there’s a wide array of services and ways to help treat people that it’s all in one place, and that’s amazing. 
Marie Darling: Yes. 
Matt Brooks: Now we are unfortunately running out of time Marie, but before I let you go, why is [00:03:00] the Guthrie Cortland Renzi Health Campus a point of pride for you?
Marie Darling: Oh, well, um, I’m a lifelong community member here. I have, I was born here and raised here, and I’ve seen this community develop over time. I. This project is a special one, uh, because it gives new life to a vacant property here in Cortland, which was the former JM Murray Center location. When they found their new location several years ago it only makes sense for us to consider this location as an opportunity for investment in growth. And the property, uh, gave us that opportunity to do just that. It already possessed many features that we feel are important for our patients and for our caregivers. And with the relationship that we developed with McNeil Development Company, the new face of the property really provides enhanced lighting and parking and safety features that truly exemplify our safe, quality, and patient-centered care that we deliver every day.
For our community, this location brings fond memories of what was once in this space, but also that [00:04:00] hope of the growing economy that highlights our strength and stability here in Cortland and Homer, um, and what, what we see our future being here in this region. And so the open floor plan and the beauty of the natural light shining in, uh, really just exemplifies again what we hope to provide that experience to our patients every day; and I’m very proud, very proud to be a member of the community and very proud to be a part of enhancing healthcare here, um, for our, for our community members. 
Matt Brooks: Yeah, it’s, it’s an amazing accomplishment to get this campus up off the ground, the open house right around the corner.
And I mean I’m truly looking forward to the open house and all the work that’ll be done at the health campus to just make this community an even better one.
