Guthrie Cortland Medical Center has announced phase one of the reconstruction of the medical center’s Avena Avenue parking lot will begin this Monday, July 24th.
Phase one of the project includes work on the portion of the parking lot directly across from the nursing and rehabilitation center and extending to Evergreen Street. Parking in this area during construction will not be available.
Visitor and patient access will still be available in a portion of the current lot. Caregiver parking will be moved to an alternative location.
Construction is expected to last until late September for phase one. Once construction is complete, the lot will be reopened and the remaining portion will then be closed for phase two. Alvena Ave. will be permanently closed off at the end during phase two.
No timeline is given yet for phase three, which will include work on the loop of Guthrie’s front entrance. More details will be provided once available.
Schedule for construction work will be from Monday to Friday beginning at 7am until 5:30pm and estimated to take 16 weeks, with weather permitting.
