Guthrie has announced Guthrie Cortland Medical Centers labor and delivery teams have been recognized by Healthgrades, a leading resource consumers use in finding a hospital or doctor.
Guthrie Cortland Medical Center has been rated 5-stars for C-section and vaginal deliveries and has maintained the 5-star rating for vaginal deliveries for nine consecutive years and for C-section, two consecutive years.
“Quality and safety have been our true north for our labor and delivery units,” said J. Manuel Arreguin, MD, MBA, FACOG, Obstetrics and Gynecology System and Department Chair, The Guthrie Clinic. “At Cortland, we are pleased to see our new group of midwives and newest Cortland-specific OBGYN continue to promote this culture. We look forward to expanding our services at Cortland with this superb, award-winning team. We want all our mothers and their unborn babies to rest assured that we provide the highest level of quality and safe care– every hour, every day, year-round.”
A five-star rating reflects the commitment to constantly delivering the highest quality care possible. The award is based via patient outcomes. Patients who are treated at 5-star rated hospitals for C-section delivery, have a 60.4% lower risk of a complication than if treated at a 1-star rated facility.
