Guthrie Cortland Medical Center One of Two Guthrie Hospitals Recognized For Stroke Care

Guthrie says the American Heart Association has recognized two of their hospitals, Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre PA, and Guthrie Cortland Medical Center. The recognition comes from both hospitals’ commitment to evidence-based stroke and diabetes patient care.

Guthrie Cortland received the “Get With the Guidelines-Stroke Silver Plus with Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll” award from 2024 data. Guthrie says this recognition underscores Guthrie Cortland’s commitment to delivering optimal stroke care, adhering to research-based guidelines which will contribute to enhanced patient recovery and reduced long-term disability.

“Stroke is the fifth leading cause of death and a leading cause of disability in the U.S. Early detection and treatment are key to improving survival, minimizing disability and accelerating recovery times.”

Guthrie says.

Guthrie continued on to say the achievements showcase their dedication to continuously improve patient care and gain national recognition for their efforts in enhancing health outcomes in the communities Guthrie serves.
