The money received by Guthrie Cortland Medical Center (GCMC) is the result of the hospital’s performance in the 2021 Excellus Hospital Performance Incentive Program (HPIP).
GCMC was awarded the full 100 possible quality incentive points and received $521,000 as a result.
Participation in the HPIP provides GCMC the opportunity to work collaboratively with Excellus Blue Cross/Blue Shield in the pursuit of patient-centered projects to reduce readmissions, decrease hospital acquired infections, and increase the overall health of our community.
This incentive will support our work toward continuous improvement of clinical outcomes, patient safety, and patient satisfaction. It also reflects and complements the ongoing, robust quality improvement work at The Guthrie Clinic.
