Guthrie Cortland Medical Center honored another DAISY award recipient last week.
That award recognizes an extraordinary nurse at the hospital who is first nominated and then voted on by hospital representatives from a pool of candidates.
This year’s recipient is Nurse Louisa Golicki, who was celebrated on Wednesday (March 27) night.
Guthrie representatives say she was selected for her compassion, empathy and exceptional teamwork.
The DAISY Foundation is a non profit organization, established in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died at the age of 33 in late 1999 from complications with an auto-immune disease.
His family says the care they received from nurses while he was ill inspired this unique means of thanking them for making a profound difference in the lives of their patients and their families.
