Guthrie Celebrated As An Excellent Employer, Receives Dual Honors

The Guthrie Clinic has been honored by Forbes with two prestigious accolades due to its standing as an excellent employer.

In a survey that included over 150,000 women working for nearly 1,000 companies across the country, Guthrie was named one of America’s Best Employers for Women in 2024. With their workforce being 76% female – along with 72% of leadership positions filled by women – it comes as no surprise that Guthrie ranked in the top 25 of health care and social service organizations. They also ranked in the top 100 overall.

Guthrie was also named to Forbes list of America’s Best In-State Employers for Pennsylvania. The ranking was open to companies from all industry sectors and over 160,000 employees working for companies employing at least 500 people were surveyed. 

“These recognitions are truly special,” said Dr. Edmund Sabanegh, President and CEO of the Guthrie Clinic. “This is not recognition that was actively sought out. Instead, it showcases, in real time, the way our caregivers think about us and the environment we have cultivated. 

Guthrie stands as one of the United States’ longest-established group practices. It is a non-profit multispecialty health organization that implements hospital care within research and education. Their six hospital campuses, 9,000 caregivers, and over 1,000 skilled physicians make up an expansive network of services who share a commitment to the best health care imaginable.
