Guthrie and Frosty Caboose Team Up to Raise Money to Fight Cancer
Both Guthrie and The Frosty Caboose on Homer Ave. have teamed up to finish off the summer season in a “cool” way, but also to help those battling cancer. Through Labor Day, September 2nd, The Frosty Caboose will be offering “The Guthrie Sundae” a creation of Perry’s Lemon Chillo ice cream with a blueberry topping.
Owner of The Frosty Caboose, Dick Brecht, will be donating 100% of all the sales from the Guthrie Sundae to the Cortland Memorial Foundation’s Nicholas Renzi Cancer Care Fund. In addition to the proceeds of the Guthrie Sundae, 10% of all sales from the Caboose on Tuesdays and Fridays will also be donated to the Cancer Care Fund.
“We are so GREAT-FUL to our Great Guthrie neighbors, Dick Brecht, and everyone at The Frosty Caboose, for the Guthrie Great Sundae Promotion,” said Sheila Ossit, Cortland Memorial Foundation Director. “I’m hoping to be first in line for a sundae and hope the community will come out for a Guthrie Great Sundae, too. The Nicholas Renzi Cancer Care Fund is used for small equipment purchases, as well as educational and comfort items for our oncology patients, so it’s all for a GREAT cause.”
