Robert S. Bailey, 41, crashed his vehicle after attempting to flee from state police.
He was then found in possession of a loaded handgun.
Just after 10 am last Saturday (October 16), a trooper saw Bailey commit several traffic violations on Williams Street in the village of Groton.
A stop was initiated. But instead of pulling over, Bailey took off.
He subsequently struck another vehicle before colliding with a telephone pole. Nobody was injured in either wreck.
Bailey was later arraigned before a judge, then remanded to the Tompkins County Jail without bail.
The investigation continues.
