Groton Man Arrested After Making Threats to Physically Harm Person

The Cortland County Sheriff’s Office says officers responded to a residence in the Village of Marathon just before 11pm on Thursday, May 1st. Officers were responding for a reported domestic at the undisclosed address.

During an investigation, officers determined 44 year old Nikolay N. Karandeyev of Groton, had used electronic communication to threaten physical harm towards a person at the residence. Officers arrested Karandeyev on the charge of Aggravated Harassment in the 2nd, a Misdemeanor.

He was taken to the Sheriff’s Office where he was processed and later arraigned. Karandeyev was then released on his own recognizance. He is due in Marathon Town Court later this week.
