Groton school district reported its first COVID-19 case this week in a student at the Junior-Senior High School.
Superintendent Margo Martin said the school was contacted by officials with the Tompkins County Health Department. A total of 28 students and four teachers have since been quarantined
The student who tested positive for the virus hasn’t been in school since Monday of last week (September 21).
Those being isolated are expected to return next week.
In-person learning remains in place as planned for the rest of the district.
