Last week, NYS Senator Peter Oberacker visited Groton School District and discussed the future of education in rural upstate New York.

He joined Superintendent Margo Martin and others for a presentation on the district’s STEAM program.

Groton officials also laid out their pilot for becoming an inclusive community school.

This involves educating both students and adults alike for marketable careers in the health sciences field.

Dr. Michael McWilliams has been overseeing the building of the health sciences at Groton, including new EMT-B and EMT-A certification programs.

Both students and community members can participate.
