Groton Ave. Work Progress is on Schedule Mayor Steve Says

The work progress on Groton Ave. is right on schedule Cortland Mayor Scott Steve said during Tuesday’s Common Council meeting. Work on the street reconstruction between Otter Creek Place and Main Street is expected to be completed this Fall.

“Still find your way to get in there [local businesses] it’s gonna be a tough summer, but they’re going on schedule and they were behind, but [now] going ahead a little bit.”

Steve said noting the Groton Ave. Public Parking lot reconstruction will begin in June.

Work will continue on Groton Ave. on both the east and west sides of the street. Crown City Rising reports construction crews are installing water services now from Main Street to Homer Ave. The work will require alternating lane closures.

On the west side of Groton Ave. from Homer Ave. and going towards Otter Creek, crews will continue to install storm sewers on the roadway. The latest updates may be found at CrownCityRising.com.
