As the operators of the Greek Peak resort in Virgil work to attract more year-round visitors with continued investment. The resort has been tapped to host an international first responders conference.
On Saturday, September 12th, first responders will head to Greek Peak to participate in the Res-Q-Jack Stabilization University. The private company provides vehicle extrication equipment for first responders.
The training program will provide firefighters and rescue technicians with the technical training needed during accident extrication, technical rescue, structural collapse and trench rescue operations. Rescuers will work through 20 different training stations that utilize real junk vehicles and other equipment to mimic real life crashes and rescue operations.
Last week, Greek Peak was granted another round of sales tax breaks to offset continued investment in the facilities there and attract visitors and customers from outside the community.
