John Harrison: [00:00:00] Good morning everyone. Welcome to a another edition of Peak At the Peak. It’s me, John Harrison in the studio over the line, as always with Jon Spaulding up at Greek Peak Mountain Resort. Jon, thanks so much for joining me this week.

Jon Spaulding: Great to be here, John. Day number 65 of this. Fluffy white ski season and 30 to 60 inch snowmaking depth out there right now.

John Harrison: Wow. That is just, I mean, I can’t even comprehend that much snow. 60 inches of snow at certain depths. That is crazy. But yeah, 65 days into the season and going strong. I’m glad, you know, the, the groundhog saw its shadow, recently, so we got six more weeks of winter. Potentially. I’m sure you’re, you’re real happy about that up there.

Jon Spaulding: Nah, it doesn’t break my heart a bit. People are having a great time out here enjoying the, the snow that we have made, but also that Mother Nature has provided. There’s, I think there’s about a 15 inch depth out there of natural depth, so the glades are out, up and riding, and all lifts are spinning.

So it’s, it’s been a great, season so far for great peak guests.

John Harrison: Yeah, it’s been, an awesome season up there, especially. [00:01:00] The turnout that college night, has, has been shown, right? I mean, college nights have been real great. And you wanna remind our listeners, you know, when College Night is, what they can expect, who are the people involved, you know, all that great stuff.

Jon Spaulding: Yeah, sure. Yeah. Red Jug College Night. Monday nights start at three 30. Ski under the Lights, for 26 bucks. You really can’t beat it. And our friends at, red Jug have been the sponsors all year. And, they’ve got a great, collaborative, ski shirt that we did, on sale at their place. It’s a Red Jug College night, a Greek peach shirt.

So you’re gonna wanna check that out because it’s, they’re known for their merch and, and this this shirt that they got coming out is a good one.

John Harrison: Yeah, actually, funnily enough, I was, I was, up at Syracuse this past weekend for, for their game against, Notre Dame. Huge win by the way. And, kids sitting a couple of of rows in front of me was wearing one of their, their college night shirts.

And I saw it and I was like, Hey, hey. I know, I know that that’s Greek Peak. Yeah,

Jon Spaulding: you see ’em all over the place. And, you know, red Jug has, has locations in Binghamton and Cortland and a couple others outside of the immediate area, but. Been a good partnership for [00:02:00] us and certainly a great deal for our guests for Monday night skiing.

John Harrison: Yeah, and speaking of great deal for our guests, March Mayhem coming up, February is kind of the shortest month, so, you know, after a week I’m already looking forward to March and then April. But, March Mayhem really great, deal for people on the horizon.

Jon Spaulding: Yeah, I mean, if, if you haven’t, you know, set up your ski getaway yet, here’s a great opportunity for you.

Focus, stay at Hope Lake Lodge during the month of March. And you, ski for free during that stay. So encourage everybody to check out the details@creekpeak.net for that. It’s a great deal and, you know, based on the forecast, it looks like we’ll be. Well, well into March and probably into April.

John Harrison: Yeah, let’s hope so.

But I’m, I’m definitely getting, ahead ’cause we’ve, we’ve still got some cool stuff going on in February, such as Winter Fest. That’s coming up February 21st. That’s a Saturday. You wanna talk a little bit about Winter Fest?

Jon Spaulding: Yeah. Saturday, February 21st. Winter Fest at Greek Peak from noon to four, but it’s really a day long, celebration.

We kick off our 26 27 season passes that day. We’ve got all sorts of [00:03:00] activities planned for the day as well. We will have a DJ on the deck. We’ll have, a find the, find the tire, contest that day. So, people, it’s sponsored by Young’s Tires and, you find the tire out in the snow and you can win a set of snows.

So just, some of the cool things that are going on up at the mountain for, for winterfest. What’s really cool about Winterfest too is, the day before. That Friday we’ll be shooting live from, tracks deck for, Ws yr Nine’s Bridge Street, segment. It’s a full Greek peak power hour that day, starting at 10:00 AM So busy weekend, Greek Peak, all over the place.

And, rightfully so because it’s just been a great winter and great way to, hit the pinnacle of the, the season by. Having a celebration like Winter Fest and being on Bridge Street.

John Harrison: Yeah, of course. Well, you know, we’re starting to run outta time here, but it seems like you’re gonna have a busy Friday, February the 20th, since we’ll have, you know, this segment that we’ll be recording, right before, and then all of a sudden you gotta run over and, and beat live for, for an hour for that.

But that’s really exciting for, for [00:04:00] everything going on at Greek Peak. Jon, thanks so much for joining me this week.

Jon Spaulding: Yep. Appreciate you guys. Thanks.

John Harrison: Yeah, of course. And for everyone listening at home, it’s been John Harrison on X 1 0 1.
